Head Lice And Home Remedies – Do They Really Work?

Good grief!

Surely the note is wrong!

You’re a good parent, what on earth has happened?

The note from the school nurse says that your child has head lice. It sort of makes you want to hide your face with a paper sack. Head lice! Simply disgusting! How on earth can that have happened to your child?

Well, the issue is head lice can happen to anyone.

Head lice have no qualms about invading the head of the most impeccably clean and well to do child.

Yes, you shampoo and comb and brush your child’s hair every single night but really that doesn’t matter at all.

Head lice infestations can happen to the best of us. But you have already made a decision that you are not interested in using pesticides to kill the head lice. That simply sounds too harsh and something you are not comfortable with.

That is okay.

Home remedies for head lice may be something that you are more comfortable with and if that is so be sure to do the research first before you make a final decision on which home remedy to use.

The first home remedy for head lice that you might consider is simply trying to comb them out with a special nit comb or by using a pet style flea brush.

This will be a long and tedious method.

If you are going to use this style of home treatment get ready to be patient.

Wet your child’s hair and use a conditioner or even olive oil, divide the hair into small sections and then begin by combing from the root of the hair out to the end of the strand.

Look at the comb every time it passes through a section of the hair. You might even consider combing your child’s hair over a bowl of water or over a white paper towel so you can see what you are able to comb out of each strand of hair. This method does take a lot of time and a lot of patience from not only you but from your child as well.

If you have made the decision to use an over-the-counter head lice treatment then make sure that you thoroughly read the warning on the boxes label because there are many side effects associated with these treatments.

Side effects include things such as scalp irritation, head rashes and even eczema. There is even a study which seems to link the chemical treatment of children with head lice to a higher incidence of leukemia.

Again, there are no hard core facts but it is certainly something to take into consideration. It is also important to remember if you are pregnant or nursing you must not use over-the-counter chemical head lice treatments.

One successful home remedy for head lice treatment is a combination of tea tree oil, citronella, lavender oil, and neem oil.

Tea tree oil which comes from the Melaleuca plant in Australia has properties which are known to be both anti-septic and anti-fungal. Tea tree oil is used to fight and insect bites, acne, colds, flu, and even mouth infections. Citronella oil comes from a grass and is very well known and widely used to repel both insects, such as mosquitoes, flies, and ticks.

Lavender oil is used to treat insect bites, fungal infections, sunburn, and even anxiety. It is a known relaxant. Neem oil also found in Australia is used as an insect repellent and also has other therapeutic purposes particularly associated with healing skin diseases.

You may be able to find this combination of natural head lice treatment products at your natural health food store or online.

Home remedies for head lice treatment certainly vary, but there have been many reports of effective natural treatments for head lice.

If you choose not to use pesticide chemicals in order to rid your child of head lice, this decision is totally up to you.

However, you must do something about the head lice, ignoring it is not an option, and a home remedy or more natural approach seems to be a good choice for you.

I really like someone… That I met online. =/

FYI, I’m 17, and He is 20.

Okay.. So I met this guy online around May and we’ve been talking for a few months now, Yes I am aware of the dangers of meeting someone online so just to make things clear when I met him I kept a lot of personal information to myself because you never know who you’re talking to until it’s to late sometimes.. But after a few weeks of talking pretty much everyday all day I really got to know him, and he seemed like the most honest guy even saying things He regretted doing in the past and thats something I found refreshing and I respected that, But I was still like, but those are just words, anyone could say that stuff, he could be a 60 year old man in a bath robe telling me these things, ehh O_o Sooo, It took me a while to really trust him, until another week or so went by and we actually talked on the phone.. I really like this guy, and we are really close, and I consider us good friends, We talked and talked all the time until about maybe.. late June Middle July is when we were talking less day by day, and he wasn’t talking to me the same way as he used too, and all that.. He also likes another girl, and started liking her in early June, so I was thinking maybe that’s why, He is sharing his feelings with two girls and maybe I’m just the one he’s decided he likes less, and then I think, well thats lame! I don’t wanna waste my feelings on a guy who doesn’t really care about me, although he claims he really does, but then again He lives in Arizona, and I live like a two and a half day drive from him..which is very sad especially if I like him so much.. it’s not like we are able to date, or see each other but it’s the fact of the matter, I’m a real person who has feelings, and I just feel like I’m starting to get brushed off.. I guess my question is, is if you liked two people and decided which you liked best, would you start to kinda.. ease off talking to the other so you wouldn’t lead them on and over time you’d just kinda become friends? Or if you’re just talking less maybe the other person’s just stressed and busy and actually doesn’t think theres anything wrong?.. I think its not fair to either person if you like more then one person, I mean you can’t help feelings, but still, No one wants to have to think their talking to someone the SAME way they are talking to you! I mean boy it makes you think, ” wow, I feel special..” *Sarcasm* I mean he’s recently gotten a new job at a nursing home his mom works at and he has to get up at 6am so he has to go to bed a lot earlier and our time zones are three hours apart (Mines later) so the past two days we’ve barely talked, and actually the past 3 weeks we really haven’t had a nice conversation.. I just feel kinda played I have real feelings for him, and I’m driving myself crazy trying to get past these feelings cause I think it’s kinda childish.. I mean.. is it?
I just don’t know what to think, and I don’t know what to do, maybe everything’s fine and I’m just being paranoid, or maybe he’s found out who he likes most, and is slowly trying to tell me ”were just friends now” AHH, I don’t know.. and I haven’t asked him because it seems like I’m being possessive, and he has a life and he gets busy and I understand that, I just wanna know if he still feels the same way he did when we met =/ cause if not, I don’t wanna waste my time liking him so much if the feelings aren’t mutual, cause I need to start to move on if so… any advice guys? I’d REALLY appreciate it :)

Term Life Insurance No Physical – Really

Can you really get “term life insurance no physical” exam? Yes you can. The interesting thing is that most life insurance companies are jumping on the bandwagon. No physical life insurance has always been available to younger people. The older you get the smaller the amount available. What has happened is that one company made $150,000 of life insurance available online. It did very well initially. The actuaries from other companies went to work. They wanted to find out how far they could push the envelop. How much life insurance could they fairly safely offer online and at what ages.

Another carrier came up with policies which offered $250,000 coverage. Soon a few others joined the fray. It seems to be quite a profitable undertaking as the number of offers increase constantly. This, of course, is good for the consumer.

One guy came up with the idea that you can get $500,000 no medical life insurance online. This may be so, but I question whether this is so. I do because what he is doing is suggesting that a person can buy $250,000 from one company and the immediately go and get another $250,000 from another carrier. The problem about that is that when you buy a life insurance policy medical information about you is put into the Medical Information Bureau’s Database. If you apply to one company and they find that you just purchased no medical exam term life insurance from another company they are likely to ask for a complete medical examination.

Incidentally, when you apply for your policy you give the carrier permission to get relevant information on you. You, in fact, permit them to get an Inspection Report.

Why do life insurance companies offer life insurance and ask for no medical exam? It is simply very profitable, if the applicant is in fairly good health. Just think, they eliminate the fee they would need to pay the doctor, paramedic or nurse to check out applicants. In addition they are protected by the “incontestability” clause which states that if the applicant fails to disclose information that would prevent them from issuing the policy they can withdraw it within a specific period of time, usually one or two years.

The no physical term life insurance policies issued are usually level term policies. 10 year term, 15 year term, 20 year term and 30 year term are quite popular. The premiums never increase and the face amounts of the policies never decrease. These are the term policies most selected when the applicant needs a medical as well. The ages at which these policies are issued are usually between age 18 and age 60. The ages and type may vary a bit depending on which life insurance company you are looking at.

So “term life insurance no physical” is a good idea for all parties concerned, as long as the applicant is honest.

of pressure ulcers, use of restraints and inspection surveys. The analysis found that nursing home residents in the United States would receive 500000 more hours of nursing care per day if all not-for-profit institutions provided all nursing home care. The mission versus margin argument in health is a long and complex one. And I am not here to debate that. What I do encourage is dialogue especially from for-profits that have good indicators. Unless you start telling your story, studies …

I’ve heard that UPENN, UVA UNC Chapel HIll UT-austin, and john hopkins have good nursing programs. Ca you name other universities whether they are ivy leage, public schools or state schools that have good nursing programs for undergraduates. I’m trying to decide what colleges I’d be interested in visiting this summer because next year I will be a senior in high school and apply for colleges. I do live in NY so if you could tell me of some universities in Ny that are good also that’d be great. If you give me more than one university could you rank their nursing programs from 1-10.. 10 being the highest? Thank you all so much. I really appreciate it

Is rocking/nursing my baby to sleep really that bad?

He is 6.4 months.

I have always done this.

Sometimes he randomly sleeps through the night, but no more than 2 weeks in a row of this.

Most of his life he has woken once or twice a night. Maybe 3 times. I go back and nurse him then.

When he has been sick he has woken more often.

I have tried letting him get himself to sleep (well I turned on the mobile so I don’t know if that counts) Usually it does not work…I once let him cry 45 minutes bc the doc. said to let him cry but I couldn’t take it after that long. If he starts really crying he won’t get himself to sleep. I can easily spend 3 hours going back in there to calm him…eventually he won’t be calmed by my presence or touch anymore and I have to pick him up and at least rock him if not nurse.

The times when he doesn’t cry much from the get-go he DOES get himself to sleep but I don’t do anything any different those nights.

If he wakes later than 3 a.m. I move him to my bed at that point because it is the only way I can function.

So my question is, is there anyone who has nursed/rocked babies to sleep every night and eventually they just stopped needing it without any kind of training or am I just setting the stage for disaster?

The pediatrician says if I don’t rain him this will continue until age 5. The thing is, I am really not bothered by rocking/nursing him to sleep and then having to get up once or twice a night to take care of him. Al though more than twice really does start to get to me.

But the majority of the time he wakes 2 times or less.

Using Table 8.21, allocate the indirect costs in the indirect cost pool using total
direct costs as the method or base. What is the total cost, or full cost, of each of the
four programs? Assuming the total outputs (or units of service) remain the same
for the visiting nurse program, the homemaker program, and the home-delivered

I really need some help. Can you give me ANY advice?

Okay, I just wanna share my story and get some advice. Sorry it’ll be a little long. Thank you for any help you can give.

My husband and I have been TTC for well over a year now. Last fall we thought I was, BFP and weight gain/belly bump, then started having horrible pains and went for an ultrasound. Wasn’t pregnant, it was a tumor. And it was a type that caused hormones to give us a BFP. We were horrified and heartbroken. They sent us home with a “sorry, but you can try again after you’ve healed from your surgery that you’ll have next week.” Didn’t make it to my scheduled surgery; The next day I woke up from a dead sleep screaming cuz I was in so much pain, but then blacked out. I woke up in the ER with the nurse cutting off my jewelry, they were taking me to the OR for internal bleeding. The tumor had flipped itself over and torn my ovary off my fallopian tube. So I lost my left ovary, a piece of my bladder, and some intestinal muscles. My uterus is now tipped sideways from the trauma of the surgery.

A little further back in the story, I had a tumor removed when I was in highschool and had to take drug therapy and injections into my right ovary. I was diagnosed with PCOS but never really given any medicine for it. I conceived my son (with my now ex-husband) with no trouble despite the PCOS and drug therapy. Now that I have lost my left ovary (which was the one that worked of course) the PCOS has gotten worse. My doctor doesn’t really wanna help us, and I can’t change who I see right now (Army tricare can be a butt) The doc says to keep trying, and if it’s meant to be it will happen. He thinks we shouldn’t have another child because our son is 4 and has medical disorders that require constant care, plus is autistic. I really wish he would give us a little more help or advice, but we’re gonna keep working on it.

I guess my real question is are there any ideas of something that would help us? I’ve been BBT’ing, BD every other day, taking all sorts of vitamins, and drinking lots of water… Nothing so far. Anyone been in this situation or have any advice? Thank you so much for your time and help.
